I can't quite believe it has been a full month since I've sat down to write a blog post. Saying the last few weeks have been hectic would be an understatement. While I have a feeling this semester will be nothing but busy, I'm starting to fall into a routine which I've made sure includes blogging and YouTube!

One of the more recent trends in the makeup world is actually a bit of a throwback to the 90s; rather than the paler spectrum of nude lips, people have been donning the browner nudes that were popular in the 90s. I've seen quite a few reiterations of this look that I've fallen in love with and decided to play around with my lip colors until I found my perfect 90s lip--and I think I've found it.

I've never been one of those girls that tend to actively avoid eyeshadow; in fact, when I figured out how to do a smokey eye (albeit a rather messy one) when I was around 14 I felt supremely proud of myself. However, when the laziness does set in but I'm still in the mood for a wash of color on the lids I know where to turn: MAC's Sable Eyeshadow.

So...it's been a while. I hadn't planned on taking a break if I'm honest, it just happened. And while I'm being honest I might as well say I really enjoyed it. I've made so many memories the past few weeks with my friends and I'm glad I've been making the most out of my summer rather than stressing about posting everyday. However, now as I near the day I leave for college (less than a month--eek!) I've been conflicted.

Despite most of my friends starting shopping for their dorm/apartment rooms weeks ago--I've held off. I think part of the reason is I just didn't know where to start and it is a bit overwhelming. Because I'm going to New York I really can't bring much up with me. I have to have a lot shipped to my dorm and it doesn't make sense for me to invest in bulky pieces unless we decide to do storage. So, there has been a lot of decision making going on in the Hunter household (read: between my mom and I).

I've made it no secret that it is a lifelong dream of mine to become a writer. I became one step closer to that when I became a contributor for A Little Opulent. If you haven't heard of A Little Opulent already, it is an online magazine full of everything from lifestyle to art to beauty & fashion. It is this versatility and the fact it is run by two bloggers whom I highly admire (Jen from JennyPurr and Rebecca from From Roses) that drew me to the prospect of wanting to contribute.
